Las Vegas

As soon as I got home from Marseille, I was ready to pack my bags again. The Atlassian 2022 conference was waiting for me in Las Vegas. The last 24 hours before departure were a complete rush. I had just unpacked, I had already gone for the mandatory Covid test to enter the US, then I quickly jumped in to vote in the elections, and at dawn the next day I found myself at the airport. It was a tense pace, but the excitement of the anticipation kept me going.

Las Vegas exceeded all my expectations. Although I had been to Macau before and thought that there were no more surprises in the genre of casino cities, Vegas is a completely different level of crazy, pulsating city. You can really find everything here, and also the opposite. Sometimes, among the endless line of casinos, gigantic hotels, and restaurants, I even reached some very special points. For example, after one day of the conference, I walked to the Stratosphere tower. The panorama from the top was simply fantastic.

In addition to the professional programs, there was also time for fun. At the invitation of one of our suppliers, I went to a professional ice hockey game, which was an amazing atmosphere and a special experience. Of course, I also checked off my gastronomic bucket list, I tasted Gordon Ramsay’s famous burger, and one morning I even crossed the city to look for a Jollibee restaurant. I fell in love with Chicken Joy in the Philippines, and I had to get nostalgic with this fried chicken.

Of course, playing casino games was also a must when you’re in this “never sleeping” city. These few days passed incredibly quickly among the neon lights of the desert; Vegas is truly a place that everyone has to see once to believe that it exists.
