On the first day of January, we visited Disneyland Paris and spent the whole day there. It was a fantastic experience to start the New Year in this fairy-tale world, where the attractions of the park completely captivated us. The special atmosphere of the theme park, the parades and the proximity of Disney characters transported us back to our childhood, even as adults.

The story of Disneyland Paris began in the mid-1980s, when the Walt Disney Company was looking for a European location for its first continental park. Out of hundreds of possible locations, Marne-la-Vallée, not far from Paris, was finally chosen, primarily because of its central location and excellent transport connections. The construction was carried out on a huge scale, and it finally opened its doors on April 12, 1992, under the name Euro Disney Resort, although the initial years were filled with economic difficulties and cultural disputes.

The park’s image and name have undergone significant changes over the years to better suit the needs of European visitors. In 1994, it was renamed Disneyland Paris, which helped to create a more positive image of the brand and increase visitor numbers. The range of attractions has been constantly expanded, and in 2002, a second park, Walt Disney Studios Park, opened, which takes guests into the world of filmmaking, making the complex Europe’s most popular tourist destination.

Today, Disneyland Paris is not just a theme park, but a huge resort area with hotels, a shopping mall and a golf course. In recent decades, continuous technological developments and the opening of new themed worlds, such as the Marvel Avengers campus, have ensured that the park has retained its charm. It has now become part of French and European culture, providing unforgettable experiences for millions of people every year, just as it does for us on this special New Year’s Day.
