Pyramidenkogel / Wörthesee

Austria flag

One of the highlights of our trip to Carinthia was climbing the Pyramidenkogel. This modern observation tower is not only one of the tallest wooden structures in Austria, but also in the world, and it is an impressive sight in itself.
The panorama from the tower was simply amazing! You could see almost the whole of Carinthia: the lake district, the green hills and the Alpine mountain ranges in the distance.
The most exciting part of the tower was the slide that led down, which is the highest indoor slide in Europe. Our daughter simply loved this adrenaline rush! While we enjoyed the view, it was the highlight of the day for her.
The blue-green lake at the foot of the tower, which is the central element of the landscape, is Wörthersee
The Wörthersee is the largest and most popular lake in Carinthia, which is considered a true bathing paradise due to its excellent water quality and water temperature in the summer months.
