Bad Kleinkirchheim

One day, it turned out that there was a great last minute opportunity at one of the company’s Alpine hotels, which I booked right away, and then I called my wife to get ready for the trip by the time I got home. Luckily, I didn’t have to work the next day, so we had the opportunity to travel for a few days.

Six hours! That’s how long it took me from downtown Budapest to the fresh mountain air and pine forests. After I got home, we quickly packed up the rest of our stuff and set off on the six-hour drive to Austria. The night was quiet, the road was almost empty, the landscape gradually changed as we approached Bad Kleinkirchheim.

Exhausted but excited, we arrived at our accommodation in a neat, clean small town around 11 pm. We found the key at the reception, as arranged in advance, and when we opened the door to our room, a pleasant surprise awaited us, the kind staff knew we were arriving late, so they prepared a nice dinner for us in the room. After a few bites of food and a hot tea, and we immediately fell into bed.

The next morning, the sight of the mountains woke us up. The sun was shining, the air was crisp and clean. After a quick breakfast, we immediately set off on one of the nearby hiking trails. The climbs were sweaty, but the magnificent panorama compensated for every step. The sight of the long valleys, the small streams and the distant mountain ridges made the spontaneous adventure an unforgettable experience. It was worth every minute of the night rush!
