Bali immediately embraced us with its fantastic atmosphere. Our first trip took us to the Monkey Temple, a sacred and ancient place where cheeky macaques ruled over the mossy stone carvings.
On our first evening, we went for dinner when we saw that the neighboring five-star hotel was offering a huge discount on Balinese BBQ on Wednesdays. We looked at each other and laughed, it was Wednesday. We enjoyed the fantastic flavors on the hotel’s rooftop terrace. We feasted on perfectly grilled satay and local delicacies under the starry sky, enjoying the hot evening breeze, at discounted price.
A speedboat trip and a day at one of the wonderful resorts were also included in our Bali adventures. The resort was on top of a high cliff with a magnificent view of the sea and a pool that was half-over-the-sea, with a glass bottom that allowed us to look down at the waves crashing against the rocks a hundred meters below us. The atmosphere of Bali is incomparable, the architecture is fantastic, the people are friendly, and the amazing variety of their food makes you want to come back again and again.
