Bomod-ok Falls

Philippines flag

Watching the sunrise from Kiltepan Peak in the early morning was an unforgettable experience – as the mountains emerged from the sea of clouds, it already energized us for the rest of the day. From there, we set off towards the hidden Bomod-ok Falls.

We drove to the upper part of the valley, but the real adventure only began after that. From there, a long walk of about 10 kilometers awaited us. The trail was not only physically challenging, but also culturally rich. We passed through several small villages completely isolated from the world, where the locals lived their lives in a peaceful rhythm. Although there was no road to these places, perhaps there was no electricity, but you could buy some food and mineral water in a few simple local shops.

However, the landscape was truly a wonder of the Philippines: stunning, rice terraces lined our path, descending like green stairs into the valley. Finally, after a tiring descent, we saw Bomod-ok Falls, which cascaded into a cold, refreshing pool – the perfect reward after a long journey.

The return journey was of course just as long and tiring, this time mostly uphill, but as we arrived back at our accommodation in the early afternoon, all we could think about was the fantastic experience and the memory of this secluded wonderland.
