The RepTár (RepTár Szolnoki Aeronautical Museum) is a modern, interactive exhibition presenting the history of Hungarian aviation and the technology of the military air force. The exhibition is located in Szolnok and is a real pilgrimage site for aviation enthusiasts. The place is an excellent destination for a day trip, as it is located just an hour and a half from Budapest.

The outdoor and indoor exhibition spaces of RepTár cover the past 70 years of Hungarian military and civil aviation. The outdoor areas of the park include iconic types such as the MiG-21 in various versions, the MiG-29 and the earlier MiG-15s. There are also combat and transport helicopters and even missiles. The indoor area houses a modern, interactive exhibition and also houses more sensitive machines and devices, such as engines and other aviation-related equipment. There is also the opportunity to try out realistic simulators of combat aircraft (e.g. MiG-29) and helicopters, and you can even sit in some aircraft, so you can experience the atmosphere of the cockpit firsthand.

I was surprised to discover a P-37 radar locator at the exhibition. During my military service, I was a locator commander in one of these devices. It is a Soviet-made reconnaissance locator. At the time, we used these medium-range devices for reconnaissance and fighter guidance.
